Cutting & Screen printing
For this workshop, artist Delphine Léger invites participants to explore cutting, composition and screen printing.
The starting point is the theme of Brutalism and the city: high-rise buildings, geometric shapes, repetition and the structures of the urban landscape.
The day begins with an introduction to Delphine’s artistic practice. Participants then work with a selection of found papers to create their own double-page spreads, exploring shapes, colours, textures and repetition.
In the afternoon, the compositions are printed in two-colour stencil screen printing. Bernadette Meisel (Viadukt) will guide the printing process and introduce participants to the technique. Each participant creates one or two double-page spreads.
Together, the individual contributions form an artist’s book that gradually becomes a layered, dystopian urban landscape. The pages are then bound into a publication with a spiral binding, and everyone takes home their own copy.
The workshop is open to everyone interested in printmaking, artist's books, and collaborative creative processes. No previous experience is required.
