The Midori Ring Calendar 2027 is a monthly calendar with seasonal illustrations with the theme "12 Months with Home Cats" designed by the Japanese illustrator Sayo Koizumi with functional monthly grids.
Each month's illustration depicts a domestic cat in a scene tied to that season, and because the image changes monthly, the calendar functions as a slow-reveal art series across the year. The ruling, date numbers, and month labels are all hand-drawn rather than typeset, which softens the grid and keeps the tone closer to a sketchbook than an office tool.
The back of the calendar includes a column called 'Stories About Cat Coat Patterns', which covers the personality traits associated with different coat markings. This detail reflects how thoroughly the cat theme runs through the product. The traditional six-day Japanese calendar cycle, Rokuyou, which is still used to schedule significant events, is also displayed alongside the standard dates.
